Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzatto writes that everyone is obligated to provide for their needs and to work to earn a living. This action is called the necessary and obligatory effort of man, but it is not beneficial.

Man has a duty to seek and care for his sustenance, just as he does for other worldly necessities. Even though we are aware and fully understand that effort is necessary and not always advantageous, he is not obligated to directly link this concept to sustenance. However, he is required to strive to provide for his personal needs without expecting help to come directly from Heaven, and without any effort on his part.

So how do we know which form of assistance to choose?

What type of action, work, or profession should the man choose?

How can we ensure that it is the Creator's will so that we truly choose the right path?
