Rabbi Moshe bar Nachman was born in Spain in 1195/4955, and throughout his life he was the jewel of Judaism of that era, until his forced exile after his courageous intellectual victory against the Church's relentless efforts to convert the Jews of Spain. He spent the last years of his fruitful life writing his commentary on the Chumash, begun in Spain and completed in the Land of Israel.
If the Ramban's voluminous works have made us all his disciples, his Letter has made us all his children. Throughout the centuries, countless Jews have made it a habit to regularly study the Iggeret haRamban; some read and study it daily, others do so weekly or monthly.
One of these students, Rabbi Avraham Chaim Feuer, shares with us in this book what the Ramban's Letter taught him: like all of this master's works, it lends itself, through each of its words, to introspection and reflection on situations we face every day of our lives. The author begins with a translation and then comments on the letter, before offering a vast collection of profound and enriching commentaries drawn from the millennia-old riches of rabbinic literature.
