These laws are unknown to many people, although they are extremely important. The prohibition against lending and borrowing with interest is a Torah prohibition!
This is mentioned several times in the Torah. (For example: Exodus chapter 32 Verse 34; Leviticus chapter 35 Verse 45; Deuteronomy chapter 23 Verse 20…)
It is reported in the Gemara Baba Mtesia page 71 "Anyone who lends or borrows with interest or is involved in such an operation (lawyer, secretary…) will be punished in this world by the loss of all their wealth.
It is written in the Gemara Sukkah page 29, "The punishment is that he will have a tax audit and will be reassessed on all his assets and will never be able to recover."
