The Patah Eliyahou is the most widely used prayer book by the French-speaking Jewish community worldwide. A remarkable achievement: the complete Hebrew text of the ritual, re-set in a pleasing typeface, with appropriate liturgical annotations in French. Of the Sephardic rite, this "Siddur" is a meticulous copy of the famous "Tefilat Ha'Hodesh" (Livorno) adopted in North Africa. Since its first printing in 1978, this Siddur has been enhanced over the years with additions: timetables indicating the times for religious services each day in Jerusalem, Paris, and Marseille; Shabbat hymns; Pirkei Avot; all the prayers for young people throughout the year; lists of biblical verses corresponding to Hebrew names; Tikkun Chatzot; Kavanot; tabs to locate the various daily and weekly prayers…
