Torah-Box Editions is pleased to present the book on the taking of dough, in the "A Golden Mitzvah" collection.

In the time of the Temple, we were obligated to give a portion of challah (dough) to the Kohen. It was one of the sacred foods that only priests in a state of ritual purity could eat. Today, even though it is no longer passed down to the Kohen, this mitzvah, still in effect, is one of the opportunities God has given Jewish women to grow spiritually and thus bring about great deliverance.

This work by Rabbi Gabriel Dayan, using diagrams and images, answers in detail all the questions you may have about the 'Hafrashat Challah':

- At what stage should the sample be taken?
- Is it permissible to separate the 'Challah' after cooking?
- Why is this a good time for prayer?
- What quantity of dough is subject to sampling?
- What should be done with the piece of dough that was removed?
- How to make beautiful loaves of bread?

“At the moment the dough is taken, God bestows His blessing and grants merit to our soul. The dough thus becomes both physical and spiritual nourishment.”

May the observance of this mitzvah of the Torah bring blessing and Divine Presence into our homes.
